Abstract

1367231 Hair curling appliances L'OREAL 12 June 1972 [14 June 1971] 27400/72 Heading A4V A hair curling iron comprises a heat-insulated handle 11, a heating member in the form of a cylindrical tube 12 which is carried by the handle and which contains an electrical heating resistance supplied with electricity by a flex 13, and a sleeve adapted to encircle the cylindrical tube 12, the sleeve being formed in one or more parts and having conical pins regularly distributed over the whole of its external surface. In the embodiment shown the sleeve consists of a stack of annular rings 14; each ring is provided with conical pins 15. The cylindrical tube 12 carries a spacing ring 13a and the stack of rings is fastened to the tube by a nut 16. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 (not shown) the sleeve (4) is in a single piece. The sleeve (4) abuts a shoulder (3a) of the cylindrical tube (2) and is fastened by a nut (6). The sleeve may be made of a flexible material. In use hair wound about the sleeve is retained by the conical pins.
