Abstract
1523153 Stereophonic pick-ups NIPPON ATSUDENKI KK 4 Aug 1975 [7 Sept 1974] 32467/75 Heading H4J A variable reluctance stereophonic pick-up has an armature having a rod portion 9 and a disc portion 14 each signal channel having an associated magnetic circuit with a polepiece 5(7) adjacent the rod portion 9 and a polepiece 6 (8) adjacent the disc portion 14. In Fig. 1 the rod portion 9, and/or the disc portion 14, is a permanent magnet and the polepieces 5 and 6, 7 and 8, are ¢-shaped magnetic circuits with coils 1, 2 and 3, 4. In Fig. 2 the rod portion and disc portion are magnetized by a permanent magnet 18 coupled through a bracket 17 at one end and to the polepieces at the other end. The flux branches through the polepieces 5, 6 and 7, 8 of each circuit and, as compared with Fig. 1, the disc 14' has tabs 15', 16', lying behind the poles 6 and 8 so that the branches work in antiphase. Damping is provided by members 12.
