Abstract

1522683 Perinone compounds HOECHST AG 3 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 40665/75 Heading C4P The invention comprises perinone compounds of the general formula wherein A and A<SP>1</SP> are optionally substituted ortho- or peri-arylene radicals or optionally substituted heterocyclic radicals, p is 0 or 1 and z is H when P is 0 or a direct bond or divalent bridge member when P is 1, with the proviso that A is not a 4- or 5- methoxy or chlorobenzene radical when P is 0. They are prepared by reacting 1 or 2 moles of 3,6- dihydroxy-naphthalic acid anhydride with 1 mole of an aromatic or heterocyclic ortho- or peridiamine or tetramine or a salt thereof. The reaction takes place in acidified water, acetic acid, ethanol, dimethyl-formamide or N-methylpyrrolidone at 80‹-150‹C. The pigments are used to colour melts, spinning solution, lacquers and printing inks.
