1521332 Apparatus for manufacturing pulp MO OCH DOMSJO AB 22 Sept 1975 [23 Sept 1974] 24434/77 Divided out of 1521331 Heading B1X Apparatus for manufacturing pulp comprises a vessel 28 in which a stream A of wood chips is moistened with steam, which may be supplied via pipe 29, a screw conveyor 30 provided with a liquid outlet 31, a digester 36 provided with an impregnating chamber 32 having conveying screws 34, the steam-moistened chips being impregnated with cooking liquor supplied via pipe 33 in the impregnating chamber and digested in the digester in the presence of steam supplied via pipe 37, a screw conveyor 39 provided with a liquid outlet 40, a pressure vessel 38 to which steam may be supplied via pipe 49, said vessel also being provided with an impregnating chamber 44 having conveying screws 47, a vessel 41 in which a stream B of wood chips is moistened with steam, which may be supplied via pipe 42, a screw conveyor 43 provided with a liquid outlet 45, and a screw conveyor 50 for conveying the product obtained in vessel 48 to a defibrator 51. The impregnating chamber 44 may contain impregnating chemicals or water.
