Abstract

1520761 Steam and vacuum cleaning STEAM VACUUM EXTRACTION Ltd 23 July 1975 26633/75 Heading A4F A hand tool for use with steam and vacuum cleaning apparatus for carpets, curtains, upholstery, walls, ceilings or floors comprises a hollow casing A, connectable by a hose 3 to a source of vacuum, a nozzle portion of the casing 1A having a suction inlet passage 4 which has a flared entrance and then widens, as shown in Fig. 1A, in the direction of fluid-flow to create a Venturi effect, the nozzle portion 1A also having a steam and solvent outlet 7 adjacent the passage 4, the supply of steam and solvent being under the control of a hand-operated valve 6 attached to the casing A. Attachments are described, Figs. 3 and 3A (not shown) having apertures and prongs or just apertures for cleaning pleated fabrics and curtains respectively, the attachments fitting across the entrance to the inlet passage 4
