Abstract

152,037. Johnson, J. Y., (F.I.A.T. Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino, Soc. Anon.). May 31, 1917. Semi-elliptic springs having one end sliding in a bearing, have the other end fixed in a pivoted block. Fig. 1 shows a spring in which a double master leaf has its ends 14 turned outwards to engage in a T-shaped slot in a cylindrical block mounted in a bracket 4, the position of the block being adjusted by washers. The other end of the spring slides in a slotted cylindrical block 8 mounted in a pivoted case 5 and provided with adjusting washers. The case 5 acts as a lubricator reservoir, and the spring leaves are grooved longitudinally, besides being perforated for the distribution of oil.
