Abstract

313,641. Burton, T. C. Marcli 12, 1928. Laminated springs in which the leaves engage an embracing member or buckle and are presented from moving longitudinally therein by interengaging means such as projections and recesses, are provided with an embracing clip or strap 13 of U-section and having a recess 11 adapted to be engaged by projections on the leaves, the clip 13 being closed by a removable plate 14 secured by countersunk screws 15. The spring and clip are secured to the axle by U-bolts passing through the holes 18. The U-bolts may be dispensed with or may be combined with the clip. When transverse springs are used, inverted channel-section cross members in which the springs engage may serve as the embracing clip and may be recessed to accommodate the projections on the leaves. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 299,929.
