Abstract
152,002. Faulstich, P. July 12, 1920. Colour photography, screens for.-Multi-colour grain screens are produced by atomizing or spraying a gelatine or colloid base with a dyed solution of celluloid or cellulose which dries rapidly and by immersing the film in an aqueous dyestuff bath to colour the remaining portion of the base. The spraying and immersion may be carried out successively and alternately, or two or more colours may be first sprayed on and the last colour produced by immersion. Long lengths of film band can be treated in this way mechanically. Two detailed processes are described- In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) other processes are described in which a grain resist is sprayed on to partly protect the film which is coloured by immersion and the colour mordanted. The resist is removed and a second resist sprayed on to partly cover the non. coloured parts, and the process repeated, the last colour being formed by immersion. Alternatively after the first colouring by immersion and mordanting the remainder of the surface may be coloured and a third colour sprayed on which is capable of combining with the colours already formed, giving a four-colour screen. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 5377/10.
