Abstract

151,872. Priestman, E. Dec. 29, 1919. End handles; fixing by sockets and tangs of special forms. - A flat bolster is placed between the handle of a table knife and shoulders on the blade, and is gripped and held in position by pinning the handle on the tang. As shown, the flat bolster b is the same shape as the end of the handle c and is slotted at b<1> for the passage of the tang a<1> formed with a widened part a<2> for the bolster. When the tang is pressed home, the bolster b is gripped between the shoulders a<3>, a<4> on the blade a and the end of the handle, and the whole is secured by a pin d passed through the handle and a hole a<5> in the tang.
