Interrupters, mechanical, for the ignition circuits of internal-combustion engines comprise a series of fixed contacts 1 to 4 mounted on the inner surface of the casing 6 capable of some rotation for hiring purposes. Contacts 10 to 13 are mounted on the free ends of a pair of V- shaped spring contact arms 14, 15 secured at their bent portions to metal bushings on pins 17. The contact arms rest upon an outer metal ring 19 separated from an inner ring 18 by ball bearings, the inner ring being mounted eccentrically upon the distributor shaft 5 and insulated therefrom. During its eccentric rotation, the outer ring presses the contacts 10 to 13 in sequence into momentary engagement with their fixed contacts. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), in which contact points 10<a> to 13<a> are formed on the outer ring, which is held against rotation by the springs 25, the points approaching. in sequence, within sparking distance of their corresponding fixed contacts 1 to 4 as the shaft revolves. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
