Abstract
168,350. Fellows, A. W., and Gardner, W. A. June 5, 1920. Rotary distributors; contacts.-The rotary contact 4 is made up of two blocks of carbon 7 with copper gauze 8 between them backed by a layer of felt 9, to keep the fixed contacts clean, all pinned together and mounted above a spring 6 within a recess in the rotating arm 3 secured on the shaft. The recess is perpendicular to theplane of rotation of the arm so that, in rotation, the contact is not subjected to centrifugal action. The fixed contacts are recessed within an insulating disc 12 and are connected with screwed stems which pass through insulating bushes 14 in the outer metal casing 13 and are provided with terminals.
