Abstract

1514183 Vehicle wheels KRONPRINZ AG 23 May 1975 [5 July 1944] 22831/75 Heading B7C A wheel comprises a rim and a disc which is integral with, or secured to, one side of the rim base, the rim comprising two rings, each defining a tyre bead seat and a tyre head retaining flange and secured as by bolts or welding to a respective side of a central annular rim part la. The radially outer surface of the rim part 1a has a diameter greater than the radially outermost diameter of the flanges 2, 3. The beads may be clamped by and/or adhesively, secured (e.g. by vulcanisation) to the rings and rim part. The radially outer surfaces of the rim part and/or the flanges may be sand blasted, shot blasted or knurled to promote adhesion between the tyre and those surfaces when the tyre is deflated. Alternatively those surfaces or the radially outer surface of the rim part may be coated with plastics material or rubber. The wheel disc 1b may be welded to the rim pot 1a or integral. Herewith (Fig. 3, not shown), or the disc may be integral with a ring (Fig. 2, not shown).
