Abstract

Kinematograph appa.ratus; optical systems.-In kinematograph apparatus having an intermittent feed, two or more images are exposed or projected simultaneously by means of an optical system such as is described in Specification 16201/15. The system comprises a small lens 7, 7<a>, for each image 3, and a large correcting-lens 8, points on the principal axes of the small lenses in the plane of the film being conjugate with the same point on the principal axis of the large lens. As shown in Fig. 1, the images 3 are transversely arranged on a wide film, and a single shutter 6, a negative lens 11 adjustable fur focussing, and screens 12 for colour projection &c., are provided. In a modification, each series of images is on a separate film, and the films are fed successively and separate shutters are provided so that continuous illumination of the screen is obtained. The large lens 8 may be between the small lenses 7, 7a, and the film, as shown, in which case the system is focusable without the aid of the negative lens 11, or the small lenses may be between the large lens and the film, a negative lens being then necessary for focussing.
