1513566 Axminster jacquards JOHN T HARDAKER Ltd 12 July 1976 [21 July 1975] 30427/75 Heading D1E For each yarn an Axminster selector bar has two selectors 45 acted on selectively by a single presser needle (not shown), one selector 45 causing lifting of the bar to the required level, the other cancelling a previous selection to that level. In Figure 4 if a presser needle is selected to act on a lower selector 45 of a pair the selector 45 is pressed to the right to tilt a catch 47 into the path of a lifting bar (not shown). Further selection of the same yarn causes no change. When change is required the first presser needle is raised to the level of and to press the upper selector 45 of the pair to the right to tilt the catch 47 out of the path of the lifting bar and, simultaneously another selected presser needle acts on a lower selector 45 of another pair to select that yarn. In Figure 7 the action of the upper and lower selectors is reversed and in Figure 8 the catch is dispensed with, the selectors being racked together, for opposite reciprocation, into the path of the lifting bar.
