1513026 Endless conveyers for elevating loads CAMERON BROS ENG CO Ltd 5 Aug 1975 32716/75 Heading B8A In an arrangement inner and outer pairs (one pair only shown in Fig. 2) of endless conveyer chains, conveying platforms 1 in a horizontal attitude on a working run of the conveyer, and in a vertical attitude (R.H. side of Fig. 2) on a return run of the conveyer, the inner chains have arcuate links 29 so that on the return run they can engage those mounting members 30 of the platforms that on the working run of the conveyer are connected only to the outer chains. Each platform 1 comprises slots (33) (Fig. 4, not shown) carrying abutment members (34) and mounted at each end on respective chains, the abutments engaging to hold the platform flat and rigid when the chains are extended horizontally. The platforms may however bend arcuately downwards (as indicated in Fig. 4, not shown) to pass around sprockets from the working to the return runs of the conveyer. A hoist 12 is provided to enable the upper and lower terminals 39 and 40 (Fig. 1) of the conveyer, to be lowered and lifted respectively from normal loading and unloading stations C and D, to alternative respective stations B and A. Latches not shown may be automatically operable to prevent feeding or discharge between the conveyer and subsidiary conveyers 10 when the terminals 39 and 40 are not in correct position. Safety cages may also be employed at feed/discharge stations.
