Abstract

1511939 Anti-theft devices ATELIERS DE LAMOTOBECANE 21 May 1976 [6 Aug 1975] 21211/76 Heading B7J A driver's helmet 8 is secured against theft in a frame assembly 7 comprised of two tubes 9, secured by a bracket 10 to the fuel tank 2 of an autocycle having a front fork lockable at an angle relative to the steering head 1, and two curved tubes 11 pivoted at 12 to the tubes 9 and threadingly engaged at 15 to 'a crossmember 14 to which is fixed a tube 16 carrying hasp plates 17 having openings therein alignable with openings in a bracket 19 secured to the steering head 1. The invention is characterized in that when the front fork is locked to the head 1 by operating a locking sleeve 6, carried in a fork plate 3 to cause a locking finger to engage an opening 5 in a plate abutment 4 secured to the head 1, a projection 18 carried by the plate 3 engages in the aligned openings in the hasps 17 and the bracket 19 so that the helmet is locked in the frame assembly 7. When the vehicle fork is unlocked the projection 18 is removed from the hasps 17 and the bracket 19 whereafter the helmet is removed and the tube 16 can be swung to the position 16<SP>1</SP>. The tubes 11 can then be swung down on to the tubes 19 and the collapsed frame assembly 7 may be used as a luggage carrier. In other embodiments a hook is pivoted to the vehicle tank and is lockable at its other end by the projection 18 on the plate 3 or by the plate itself. In these instances the hook passes through an opening in the wall of the helmet 8.
