Abstract

1511676 Mechanical switches INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 31 July 1975 32125/75 Heading H1N An electrical rotary switch comprises an insulating rotor 1 having a resilient barbed member 4 received in a circular opening 7 in a board 3 of insulating material carrying stationary contacts. The rotor 1 carries at least one spring biased contact 19 and is provided with three equally spaced barbed members 4 (5, 6) which upon assembly of the rotor 1 to a printed circuit board 3 will be bent inwardly as they pass through the opening 7 in the board 3 and then spring back after they have passed through the opening 7 whereupon barbs 8 on the members 4 engage behind the board 3. The rotor 1 is provided with an outer collar 17 which engages the board 3 and is guided during rotation by three equally spaced guide members 12, 13, (14) integral with the rotor 1 and engaging the wall of the opening 7. A rotor 1,2 may be mounted to each side of the board 3, as shown, the barbs of each rotor engaging in recesses (33) 34, (35), 36 in the other rotor so that movement of one of the rotors causes a corresponding movement of the other. The board 3 may be provided with further rotors.
