Abstract

1511156 Mounting cylinder heads AUTOMOBILES M BERLIET 1 July 1975 27631/75 Heading F1B To maintain a fluid tight cylinder head 9 block joint without distorting the block 1 or the cylinder liner 4 therein, a raised portion 23, located on the side of the set screw 11 remote from the raised edge 6, 7 of the liner, is provided, the spacing caused by the portion 23 being equal to that caused by the ribs 6, 7. The raised portion 23 may be formed on either surface of block or head or may comprise a shim. As shown in Fig. 19 two cylinder heads 49, 59 may be arranged to meet either side of the screw so as to reduce the distortion forces.
