Abstract

The cylinder head for use on a two stroke engine is formed in two parts, the lower part (4) being fixed to the cylinder block and having no means of cooling. The upper part of the head is fixed to the lower part by double ended studs (7) and nuts (10). The upper part of the cylinder head is provided with a threaded bore (13) to receive a spark plug (14) or injector, and vertical cooling fins (12). The lower part has a port (6) in registry with the threaded bore of the upper part A sealing gasket (15) is provided between the two parts of the cylinder head.
