Abstract

1510124 Bearings GLACIER METAL CO Ltd 22 May 1975 [26 June 1974] 28300/74 Heading F2A A plain bearing comprises a journal shell and a flange each consisting of a strong backing 10, 11 and a bearing lining 12, 13 bonded to the backing, the shell backing 10 and flange backing 11 being welded together at local points around the circumference of the shell. The flange backing 11 may have inwardly extending tabs 15 which are welded to the circumferential edge of the shell backing. The journal linings 13 are preferably arranged to terminate axially inwardly of the edge of backing 10, and flange lining 12 is machined away at strips 14 adjacent to the tabs 15.
