Abstract

1337648 Lubricating WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970 16 July 1970] 23205/71 Heading F2A Lubricant is supplied to a bearing for a shaft 12 by a rotating drum 20 secured to the shaft. Oil is scooped from within the drum by a scoop having a curved portion close to and substantially tangential to the inner surface of the peripheral wall of the drum, and flows along a duct to the bearing. A scraper (50, Fig. 5, not shown) may be provided to remove oil from the outer surface of the drum.
