Abstract

1508654 Adhesive coatings B CALVERT 16 April 1975 15648/75 Heading B2E [Also in Division B6] A pattern of adhesive is applied to a substrate by printing with an oil-based medium, e.g. ink or varnish, and, while the medium is wet, applying a powdered, liquid-soluble adhesive material, and then heating to cause the adhesive to fuse into the medium. The adhesive may be semi-hydrolised polyvinyl alcohol, which is activated by wetting. The pattern may or may not be visible after fusing.
