Abstract

1507668 Mine face conveyers DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd 23 June 1975 [11 July 1974] 30677/74 Heading B8A A device for adjusting the angular setting of a coal face conveyer comprises a lever 13 pivoted at 14 to a bracket 15 secured to the side 12 of the conveyer and adjustable in inclination by a double-acting hydraulic jack 16. The direction of movement of ram 26 is controlled by the position of a valve set by handle 32, an on-off valve controlled manually by a handle 33 being used to adjust the lever 13 by the required amount. When not operated the handle 33 acts to lock the jack hydraulically. A connector 18 has a pin 29 loosely fitting a hole 31 in a relay bar 19 connected to an advancing jack (21), Fig. 1 (not shown). A scale (35), Fig. 3 (not shown), indicates the angle between the lever 13 and the bracket 15. Alternatively a scale may be used to indicate the height of side 12 of the conveyer above the floor.
