Abstract

1507570 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 14 Nov 1975 [15 Nov 1974] 47069/75 Heading F2A A recirculating ball mechanism comprises an annular cage having a plurality of recirculation paths, the radially outer surface of the cage being provided with an annular series of load supporting raceway plates 2 alternating with unloaded return plates 3, the return plates being detachably connected to the cage by means of stud and socket fastenings 10, 11. The return plates 3 and the cage may be made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown), the studs extend radially outwardly from the cage and engage in slots in the return plates, retention being by means of expanded end portions on the studs. In a further embodiment (Fig. 7, not shown), the load supporting plates are provided with rebated circumferential edges, co-operating coaxial projections provided on the adjacent return plates extend into the rebates.
