Abstract

1,255,303. Roller conveyers. KARL STUMPF K.G. 29 July, 1970 [14 Feb., 1970], No. 36632/70. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F2] A composite conical roller for roller tracks comprises separate truncated elements assembled longitudinally in series with the larger diameter of each element corresponding to the smaller diameter of the adjacent element. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a series of elements 1, 1<SP>1</SP> ... are mounted on a cylindrical drum 4 supported by bearings on a shaft 3, the drum being formed with ribs 6 engaging grooves in the roller elements. In Fig. 5 the elements 1, 1<SP>1</SP> ... are mounted on a square or polygonal shaft 10 and engage by spigot and socket joints 15. In a modification, Fig. 8 (not shown), the roller elements are secured to discs (27) spaced along the shaft. In Fig. 7, the elements have spigot and socket connections secured by radial pins 22 and are secured to a circular shaft 26 by antifriction discs 25. The roller elements may be split along diametral planes, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
