Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a drum for drum scanners, consisting of a hollow cylindrical body which is rotatably supported at its ends.
In contrast to flatbed scanners, drum scanners have rollers which rotate rapidly on the scanning side and on the recording side, on which the original to be scanned is fastened on the scanning side and the recording media are fastened on the recording side. In order to obtain a high working speed with such scanners, it is necessary to let the roller rotate quickly, which on the one hand leads to high centrifugal forces and due to the large format Vor desired today were a stable construction - the rollers required. In order to be able to hold the recording medium on the roller even at high speeds, the surface of the roller has suction openings which are connected to a vacuum prevailing inside the roller. This ensures that clamping devices can also be omitted, which could lead to an undesirable unbalance at high speeds. Because of the high precision required in image processing, the geometry of the surface of the roller also requires high mechanical precision. With the previous type of roll production, be it by turning off finished pipes or by unscrewing the rolls from full material, there are relatively high costs and a heavy construction of the rolls.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a new type of roller which meets the various demands placed on it and avoids the disadvantage of the known roller. The invention achieves this in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of pot-like structures which are pushed into one another and glued to one another. Another embodiment of the invention consists in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of pot-like structures and rings which are also pushed into each other and. glued together. Another Aus leadership form can consist in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of rings which are connected and glued at their joints by means of tab rings. A round sheet metal plate also maintains the round shape. Rollers using a combination of the above design features also fall within the scope of the present invention. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
- 1 shows an embodiment of the invention with pot-like structures pushed into one another and
- Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the invention with rings which are connected to one another by means of tab rings.
Figure 1 shows a roller 1, which according to the invention is composed of several parts.
The actual cylindrical roller body consists of pot-
Bei großen Walzen werden diese druckdichten Böden mit einer der Beanspruchung entsprechenden Form versehen (Kesselboden).FIG. 2 shows a similar construction of a roller 1, which at its ends also has
The roller bodies proposed in the present invention are particularly suitable for drum scanners in the graphic arts industry or other reproduction devices which work with rollers for the recording of originals or recording media.
