Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The present invention relates to a drum for drum scanners, consisting of a hollow cylindrical body which is rotatably supported at its ends.

Zugrundeliegender Stand der TechnikUnderlying state of the art

In contrast to flatbed scanners, drum scanners have rollers which rotate rapidly on the scanning side and on the recording side, on which the original to be scanned is fastened on the scanning side and the recording media are fastened on the recording side. In order to obtain a high working speed with such scanners, it is necessary to let the roller rotate quickly, which on the one hand leads to high centrifugal forces and due to the large format Vor desired today were a stable construction - the rollers required. In order to be able to hold the recording medium on the roller even at high speeds, the surface of the roller has suction openings which are connected to a vacuum prevailing inside the roller. This ensures that clamping devices can also be omitted, which could lead to an undesirable unbalance at high speeds. Because of the high precision required in image processing, the geometry of the surface of the roller also requires high mechanical precision. With the previous type of roll production, be it by turning off finished pipes or by unscrewing the rolls from full material, there are relatively high costs and a heavy construction of the rolls.

Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention

The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a new type of roller which meets the various demands placed on it and avoids the disadvantage of the known roller. The invention achieves this in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of pot-like structures which are pushed into one another and glued to one another. Another embodiment of the invention consists in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of pot-like structures and rings which are also pushed into each other and. glued together. Another Aus leadership form can consist in that the cylindrical roller body consists of a number of rings which are connected and glued at their joints by means of tab rings. A round sheet metal plate also maintains the round shape. Rollers using a combination of the above design features also fall within the scope of the present invention. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.

Kurze Beschreibung der ErfindungBrief description of the invention

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.

Show it:
  • 1 shows an embodiment of the invention with pot-like structures pushed into one another and
  • Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the invention with rings which are connected to one another by means of tab rings.

Bester Weg zur Ausführungsform der ErfindungBest way to implement the invention

Figure 1 shows a roller 1, which according to the invention is composed of several parts. Lids 2 and 3 are provided on the end faces, each of which has a recess 21 or 31 in the central area, into which a rod 4 passing through the roller 1 engages and at the end ends is clamped by nuts 41 and 42.

The actual cylindrical roller body consists of pot-like structures 5 to 10 which are pushed into one another, a ring 18 being provided at one end of the roller in order to obtain a closure with the cover 1. As can be seen from the drawing, the pot-like structures 5 to 10 are drawn in at their bottom ends so that the next element can be placed over them. The joints between the individual elements are filled with adhesive during assembly, and the rod 4 and the nuts 41 and 42 pull the roller body together, so that, provided that the individual elements are clean at their ends, an exactly cylindrical one Body results. In order to hold the material to be clamped, be it the original or the recording medium, on the rotating roller surface, suction holes 181 are provided in the roller surface, which have been shown in FIG. 1 only for the element 18. Of course, the entire surface of the roller is provided with several rows of such suction holes, which are connected to a vacuum prevailing inside the roller.

Bei großen Walzen werden diese druckdichten Böden mit einer der Beanspruchung entsprechenden Form versehen (Kesselboden).FIG. 2 shows a similar construction of a roller 1, which at its ends also has lids 2 and 3 which are comparable with FIG. 1 and which also have recesses 21 and 31 into which a rod 4 engages, which in turn by means of the screws 41 and 42 individual elements clamped. Instead of the pot - like structures of the FIG. 1, ring-like elements 15, 16, 17 and 18 are provided here, which are connected and glued to one another from the inside with tab rings 20, 21 'and 22 at their joints. To increase the rigidity, disk-like bodies 23, 24, 25 and 26 are also provided, which support the outer jacket of the cylinder and dictate the round shape. Also in this embodiment, if you ensure that the end faces of the individual elements are processed properly, it is ensured that an exactly cylindrical body results. As in FIG. 1, the elements are clamped together using covers 2 and 3, rod 4 and screws 41 and 42. In order to avoid that large parts of the uncovered suction openings have to be closed when using small partial formats, one or more pot bases are made without openings. The individual rooms can be connected to the vacuum line via valves. In the case of large rollers, these pressure-tight floors are given a shape that corresponds to the stress (boiler bottom).
