Abstract

1507552 Blow mould mandrel ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 3 May 1975 48903/77 Divided out of 1507551 Heading B5A The disclosure is included in the parent Specification but the claims are directed to a parison 200 having a conical portion extending between an annular rim portion and a rounded closed end which is in substantially uniform surface contact with a mandrel and a holder 207 with the annular rim portion of the parison being in air sealing engagement with a portion 208 of the holder which is long enough to permit the parison to expand therealong to prevent the parison losing contact with the mandrel during thermal expansion, there being heating means 210 passing through the holder into the mandrel and a passageway 224 to 228 passing through the holder and opening at the surface of the mandrel for applying vacuum to hold the parison on the mandrel.
