Abstract

1506601 Transfer presses KOMATSU SEISAKUSHO KK 2 June 1975 23794/75 Heading B3H A transfer feeder for a transfer press comprises a pair of parallel transfer bars 4, 5, each of which is slidably mounted on a respective slide 2, 3, means for driving the slides toward and away from each other in synchronism with the operation of the press and clutch means 9 associated with the driving means which enables the distance between the transfer bars to be adjusted by moving the slides towards or away from each other independently of the driving means when the clutch is disengaged. The bars 4, 5, are moved in opposite directions by pinions 8, Fig. 2, which engage racks 6, 7 secured to the slides 2, 3, and a gear 12 forming part of the clutch 9, is driven by a rack 16, which is reciprocated by a press mechanism 17. The gear 12 is formed with a pair of projections (12 1 ), (12 2 ), which engage in one pair of three pairs of equi-angularly spaced recesses (11 1 -11 6 ) in the gear 11, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). To set the bar spacing to, e.g. L3, the clutch 9 is disengaged by actuation of an hydraulic cylinder 19 and a shaft 10 is rotated by an electric motor (23), Fig. 5 (not shown), via a shaft 24a and bevel gears 21, 24. The gear 11 rotates with the shaft 10 until a cam 11b on it actuates a limit switch 15 thereby declutching the motor (23) and actuating the cylinder 19 to re-engage the clutch 9. The peojections (12 1 ), (12 2 ) are then engaged in recesses (11 3 ), (11 6 ).
