Abstract

The gear is for adjusting the gap between a pair of conveyor rails of a feeding mechanism serving a transfer press fitted with a pair or guides on which the conveyor rails slide. The conveyor rails are moved towards each other by a driving mechanism in synchronism with the working cyle of the press, in order to transfer workpieces in continuous sequence in combination with the vertical movements of the slides from one operation to the next. For the adjustment of the conveyor rail distance there is a clutch fitted in the driving gear, which makes it possible to adjust the distance in such a way that the slides can move towards each other independently from the drive, while the clutch is disengaged.
