Abstract

1505676 Electrical couplings AMP Inc 18 April 1975 [26 April 1974 (2)] 16019/75 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] A terminal 32s or 32g formed from a single piece of sheet metal stock comprises a plate 50 having a portion 54 which is dished out of the plane of the plate and bisected by a wire receiving slot 56, and a pair of spring arms 52. Each terminal is located in a respective passageway 30s or 30g in the glass filled nylon housing 26, the third cavity 38 in the housing being occupied by a coaxial cable (not shown). Connection between a wire, from the cable, and a terminal is made by placing a bared wire in slot 56 and hammering the dished portion back into the plane of the plate hence the plate holds and makes electrical contact with the wire. As a pin (not shown) is inserted into one of the passageways 30s or 30g it makes contact in two places with each arm of the terminal therein. Pins may be arranged in pairs on a plug board and the connectors placed singularly or stacked on the pairs of pins the connectors being interconnected by said coaxial cable, Fig. 2 (not shown).
