Abstract

Tanks and cisterns.-To increase accessibility to facilitate filling, the petrol tank of a motorvehicle is provided with an opening in which slides a tube which may be drawn out when the filler cap is removed. The tank B is provided with a neck A within which slides the extension tube D. A stud E in the neck engages in a longitudinal groove D<2> in the tube D, and retains the latter in the raised position when it is given a half turn as shown in Fig. 2. In this position, the pipe G communicates with the groove D<2> and acts as a vent during filling. Gauzes F may be fitted at the lower end of the extension tube.
