BY my! WITNESS:
CHARLES BREIEL, or xnnrmorrro, ASSIGNOR or ONE-HALF 'roirrromnsln, II:
FERGUSON, or XENIA, 01110.
' FUNNEL.
To all zohom it may concern. 7
-l 3e it known that I, CHARLES citizen of the United/States, residing at Xenia, in the county ofv Greene and State of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Funnels, of which the following is a specification. a
This invention relates to a novel construction of funnel, the principal object of the invention being to design a funnel for facilitating the filling of the gasoline tanks of automobiles and the like.
Among other features the invention includes means for permittingthe mouth of the funnel to be placed in different positions and a telescopic outlet part provided with a curved end for permitting the device to spherical member 4 which receives the memher 2. The joint between these two membe used with tanks which have their filling nipples located behind the spare tire and the license plate. i
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim. Y
In describing my invention in detail, ref
erence will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and inwhichzv Figure 1' is a view showing the funnel in closed up condition.
v Figure 2 is a sectional view showing the Specification of Letters Patent.

fluid while permitting the parts to, bemoved to place the mouth 1 in different positions. A section 5 is placed in thesp'out 3 and has sliding movement therein so as to permit the outlet spout to be increased in length. The outer end of said part 5 is curvedfas'shown at 6'. 1 r It will thus be seen that when the funnelis not being used the extension :5 may "be pressed inwardly into the spout and the mouth is straightened so as to permit the device to be placed under the seat or in a tool boX. When, the device is to be used, the extension 5' is moved makes a tight fit with the spout and the mouth 1 can be moved into an iiiclinedpost tion to facilitate the pouring of the gasoline into the tank when said tankis arranged behind the spare tire carrier and the license plate. I Itis thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will'be readily. apparent.
I desire it to be'understood that I may a tented Jang 31,
I here made tight to prevent the of v i outwardly until it make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement or the several parts, provided that such chan es fall within I the scope of the appended cl'a1 What'l claim is,:- 4 i A funnel comprising amouth partga semi-spherical member connected to they small 'end of said mouth-part, a second semitioned member, an outlet spout projecting downwardly therefrom and curvedat the lower end thereof, a section located in said spout and having sliding movement therein spherical member receiving the first men- I so as to permit the outlet spout to be in creased in length.
- In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
