Abstract

1502732 Hair cutting devices J GARVEY 4 Nov 1976 [6 Jan 1976] 401/76 Heading B4B A hair cutting device comprises a pair of combs 10 mounted on a handle 11 in the form of a container which serves to trap severed hair therein, a blade mounted in a blade holder 15 and mechanism 18 mounted within the container for adjusting the position of the blade holder. The combs are secured in the handle 11 by screws 23, Fig. 5, such that edges 24a, 24b of the combs abut a base 16b on the holder in order to prevent the cutting edge of the blade extending beyond the tips of the combs. The adjusting mechanism comprises a number of cam-shaped levers 18 mounted on a spindle 17 and adapted to engage the under surface 16a of the base. The ends of the spindle are rotatably mounted in cover-plates clipped on to each end of the handle; a lever 19 is provided on one end of the spindle externally of the handle in order to actuate the adjusting mechanism.
