Abstract

1477585 Knives ALLWAY TOOLS Inc 21 Oct 1975 [21 Oct 1974] 43222/75 Heading B4B A cutting tool comprises a sleeve-like handle 12 having a slot 16 open at one end and a blade carrier 14 pivotally-mounted in the handle and movable from an open position in which a blade 22 can be removed or replaced and a closed position in which the carrier closes the slot with a portion of the blade exposed, the carrier being provided with a number of studs 50-56 for locating the blade thereon and a guide channel portion 20 which protects a portion of the cutting edge of the blade which is not exposed for use. The blade carrier 14 is formed with side portions 62, 64 having resilient protrusions thereon which serve to retain the carrier in the closed position; the carrier is also formed with resilient clips 42 which serve to retain a spare blade. The blade 22 is formed with holes 30, 32, 34 and notches 36, 38, 40 such that it can be located in two different cutting positions or a scraping position as shown in Fig. 1.
