Abstract

1502272 Fire extinguisher EMI Ltd 3 Feb 1975 [2 Feb 1974] 4935/74 Heading ASA A fire extinguisher comprises an elongated tubular reservoir 1 disposed in a plane preferably a toroid, a filler valve 2 and cap 3 and an extinguishant nozzle 4 connected to 1 by hollow spokes 5. The reservoir is charged with a liquid extinguishant 6, e.g. BCF or BTM, which is then pressurized with nitrogen gas 7. In an alternative embodiment, the nozzle 4 is located in the reservoir 1 itself, and is sealed with a seal which may be opened in response to heat or smoke.
