Abstract
1502263 Steam generation CALOMAX (ENGS) Ltd 20 March 1975 [19 April 1974] 17353/74 Heading F4A In a steam tank 14 for a steam humidifier at least one removable, internal arcuate-shaped baffle 42 is secured at an end region to a removable portion 44 of an end wall portion of the tank such that the removal of the wall portion 38 results in removal of the baffle 42 for cleaning purposes. The steam humidifier is provided with a cold water tank 12 and a steam tank 14. Cold water flows from the tank 12 to a supply pipe 20 and a branch line 20A leads from the pipe 20 into the steam tank 14. A water level gauge for the humidifier is provided by a translucent plastics tube 24. The steam tank 14 is provided at its bottom region with a drain connection pipe 28 and at its top region with a steam outlet pipe 32. Each side wall 36 of the steam tank 14 is provided with a V-shaped recess 36A which forms a baffle for the upward flow of steam from the bottom of the steaming chamber. The steam is generated by the heat supplied by an electrical heating element unit carried by a removable portion 40 in one of the end walls 38. A known control system, which enables the humidity of the atmosphere to be controlled, may be incorporated in the steam humidifier.
