Abstract

1501975 Valves BULK UNIT LOAD SYSTEMS Ltd and G W SNAPE 17 Feb 1976 [18 Feb 1975] 6864/75 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] The slide 10 of a slide valve assembly is moved between closed, trickle-feed and fully open positions by at least two hydraulic or pneumatic jacks or jack sections. A single multi-cylinder jack having a number of stages corresponding to the number of intermediate positions required or a plurality of single storage jacks operable successively may be used. In the embodiment shown, the slide 10 is pivotally connected to a cross-head 20 pivotally connected to the piston of jack 15 and to the cylinder of jack 17. The piston on jack 17 is connected through an adjustable connection 26, 26a to the piston of a jack 16. Jack 16 is first actuated to establish a trickle-feed position, whereafter simultaneous actuation of jacks 15 and 17 establishes the fully open position. The jacks are actuated by two position solenoid actuated valves (27), (21), Figs 5 to 7 (not shown), included in the circuit, are flow restrictors (28) for each jack and a quickrelease valve (29) for jack 16.
