Abstract

1501406 Joint-making packing G D WHITLOCK 14 April 1976 [22 April 1975] 16651/75 Heading F2B A one-piece sealing member of opaque elastomeric material, e.g. silicone rubber, comprises a continuous wall 17; a continuous flange 11 extending inwardly from the wall 17, having flat parallel opposite faces 14, 15, and having on its inner periphery two continuous narrow projections 12, 13, for providing seals against two articles (not shown) lying in use against the parallel faces 14, 15, and also a continuous groove 16 between the two projections 12, 13. The projections 12, 13 may be triangular in cross-section with a sharp or rounded edge. The cross-section may project at the comer 18 for improved sealing, and may be chamfered at 22 to ease insertion of an article between the inner surfaces 21 of the wall 17.
