Abstract

1501271 Labels D A SAMUEL and L W SAMUEL [trading as AQUAMARK] 22 July 1976 [28 July 1975] 31405/75 Heading B8F A liquid-proof label comprises a smooth plastics sheet 1 having opaque areas 4 capable of receiving written data and a transparent plastics film 3 joined to the sheet 1 at one end thereof and able to be pressed into such intimate contact with the sheet as to exclude all air and form a liquid-proof seal between the sheet and film. The sheet may be sandwiched between two films and may be joined to the films by an eyelet 2, rivet or staple or by adhesive bonding or welding along one edge. Both the sheet and film may be made of PVC and the opaque areas 4 may be provided by printing on the rear surface of the sheet. The film may be shorter than the sheet and may be provided with hooks or loops for attaching the label to an article. Alternatively the sheet may have an adhesive coating on one surface thereof, this coating being initially covered by a protective film. Other attaching means such as a magnet, adhesive pad or suction cup may be incorporated.
