Winding and paying-out apparatus on motor vehicles.-A tractor fitted with a winding-drum of the kind described in Specification 142,690 for hauling a plough or other cultivating-implement and used in conjunction with a similar tractor on the opposite headland, is provided with friction gearing for starting the inactive engine from the paying-off drum which is rotated by the second tractor. A friction disk 1 on a lever 20 can be pressed against the rim of the winding-drum A during paying-off to start the engine E of the tractor by means of sprocket gearing 3, 4.
