Abstract

1500925 Conveyers LIEBHERR-VERZAHNTECHNIK GmbH 12 Nov 1975 [14 Nov 1974] 46643/75 Heading B7L Conveying apparatus for individual articles comprises carriers or pallets 2 each of which is provided with either three or four rollers 14, the rollers each having a groove 18 which runs along the edge of a strip or band-like track 20 which is inclined to the horizontal in the longitudinal direction so that the carriers 2 are driven by gravity. Each pallet 2 is provided with an article holder 4 which is bolted thereto. The track (20) may be disposed in helical form about a drum-shaped frame structure (51) in order to act as a store for machine tools in a production line, Fig. 9 (not shown). An elevator, which is used in the store of Fig. 9 for transporting the carriers to the top of the helical path, is shown in Fig. 8 (not shown), the elevator comprising a vertical track (44) on which runs a carrier bearing a track section (50) which is alignable with each of the ends of the tracks shown in Fig. 9. A switch arrangement for the track is shown in Fig. 10 (not shown), and comprises a tongue section (54) which is movable by means of a crank-driven arm (56) for alignment with either of two tracks (64, 66). The track 20 may be reinforced by attaching a parallel track (24) thereto by means of spacers (26), Fig. 4a (not shown). Alternatively, a torsionally stiff box section (28) can be attached to the track (20), Fig. 5c (not shown).
