Abstract
1499595 Cleaning electro-photographic surfaces XEROX CORP 17 April 1975 [30 April 1974 20 May 1974] 15888/75 Heading G2H Residual toner remaining on photo-conductive surface 12 after transfer of a developed image is removed by longitudinally-reciprocated resilient blade 50, then film contaminant is scrubbed off by a brush 65 or by a cleaning pad. The removed toner may be recirculated by auger 60 and bead chain conveyer 70. The brush rotates at a peripheral speed of from 0À1 to 1À5 feet per second and the pad, if one is used, is biased against the surface with a force of 1 to 4 1b per square inch.
