Abstract
1498648 Central heating systems MYSON HEAT EXCHANGERS Ltd 20 April 1976 [18 April 1975] 16161/75 Heading F4U [Also in Division B1] A method of removing air and/or steam from a mixture with water in a central heating system comprising introducing the mixture in the outward or return connection between the water heater and radiator means into a hollow body in the form of a jet which impinges on to a plane surface within the hollow body so that the mixture spreads over the surface to cause the air and/or steam to separate from the separating mixture and rise to a vent at the uppermost part of the hollow body, the water then leaving the hollow body to continue its passage through the system. Thus water containing air and/or steam from heater 10, Fig. 5 enters at 24, (Fig. 3) to impinge on surface 30 and flow over it creating vortices, the water leaving via port 25 connected to pump 11, and air and steam leaves via port 26 connected to pipe 16. Cold feed from expansion cistern 17 enters at 22 at the same pressure as the mixture from inlet 24.
