Abstract

1498003 Two part coupling J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 20 Jan 1975 [8 Dec 1973] 57004/73 Heading H2E A switched socket comprises a live input terminal 32 and a neutral contact 15. A plug pin inserted into contact 15 cooperates with the cammed projection of switch operating member 22 and forces it, against spring urging, away from the contact. This allows biased switch arm 34 to connect with contact 38, the primary side of a transformer, and thus contacts 13 and 17, connected at different points to the secondary winding are made live. A two pin plug inserted into either 13 and 15, or 17 and 15 produces voltages suitable for an electric razor. In other embodiments the switch arm may be biased away from contact 38, or neutrally biased, and the operating member force it into or out of contact (Figs. 4 and 6, not shown).
