1497304 Compensating chambers for hydraulic dampers G R G F KRAUSE 26 June 1975 27035/75 Heading F2S The compensating chamber of a pistoncylinder hydraulic damper is a hollow body filled with compressible medium (gas or foam material) and located in one of the working chambers. The body has a filling means 10 which coincides, at least in one relative position of piston and cylinder, with a filling means 12 in the cylinder wall. Instead of being carried by the piston, as shown, the body may be secured to the cylinder wall with the filling valve extending through the securing plug, or (Figs. 4-8, not shown) it may float between the cylinder end and a retainer which prevents it from contacting the piston. The retainer may be fixed to the cylinder wall or floating.
