Abstract

1497278 Friction false twist discs ERNEST SCRAGG & SONS Ltd 18 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 31991/74 Heading DID A friction false twist disc has an edge cross section comprising a shallow curvature centre part 19 and more strongly curved end parts 11, the whole being symmetrical about a central plane 9 and the rim profile hence being substantially semi-elliptical. Such discs are employed in a false twist device with a plurality of overlapping discs on axes disposed about a strand path disposed to be contacted in turn by the running strand. The disc is suitably of 3.95 to 4.0 millimeters thickness and the respective centre and end radii are 3 and 1.5 millimeters. Suitable spacings of the discs are also given.
