Abstract
1495751 Aircraft trailing - edge flaps BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 24 Feb 1975 [8 March 1974] 10447/74 Heading F2R [Also in Division B7] An aircraft has flaps 2 over which gas is discharged to effect changes in lift, the gas being supplied through a primary duct 4 in the wing 1 (or tailplane or rudder) and a secondary duct 16 in the flap which protrudes into an aperture 19 in the primary duct in all positions of the flap, the secondary duct terminating in an outlet 18 which is fixed with respect to the flap. Flexible seals 22, 23 are provided. Each wing may include two flaps (2, (3), Fig. 1 (not shown), the secondary ducts of the flaps being supplied by respective primary ducts 4, (5) extending side-by-side generally spanwise of the wing and separated by a wall (6) serving as a wing-stiffening member.
