Abstract
1495533 Butter working DE DANSKE MEJERIERS MASKINFABRIK AmbA 16 Dec 1974 [20 Dec 1973] 54301/74 Heading C5C [Also in Division B1] A butter worker comprises a closed chamber 1 connected at 10 to a vacuum source and having working and conveying members (as shown intermeshing screws) 2, 3 in its lower part, and a butter supply pipe 12 with its outlet spaced above them at their discharge end. In operation a roll of butter 13 is formed which rotates in the direction of the arrow, newly fed butter being carried away from the discharge end and worked into the mass. The members 2, 3 extend into a pressure chamber 6 communicating with a butter pump 7, and for continuous working the members 2, 3 are started before the pump 7. The butter inlet may have a distributer 15 in the form of a perforated plate or mesh, or of an adjustable conical valve member and seat (see Fig. 3, not shown) which forms the butter into a thin layer. If placed after the normal working section of a butter-production line, the apparatus produces butter with better distribution of water therein and greater spreadability.
