Abstract

1495308 Wire connector TE-HSING CHANG 7 Oct 1975 41072/75 Heading H2E A wire connector comprises a tubular sleeve 1 having a central portion 14 in which a conductive needle 3 is fitted. Additionally, sleeve 1 may have an external groove 16 with holes 17 communicating with bores 13 into which U- shaped spike 4 may be inserted. Enlarged ends 11 of sleeve 1 retain outer sleeve 2 on the central portion 12. Needle 3 is inserted by slot 15 which extends to the centre of the partition 14. The wires 5a, 5b are inserted unstripped into the ends 13 of the inner sleeve 1, when the needle 3 will pierce the conductors axially to make electrical contact. Spike 4 provides additional cable grip, resilient sleeve 2 being forced over one end 11, so as to lie on central portion 12, retaining spike 4 in place and compressing sleeve 1 so as to grip both wires 5a, 5b.
