Abstract
1495195 Defoaming molten slag AIKOH CO Ltd 20 Oct 1975 43003/75 Heading C1K A method for defoaming molten slag comprises throwing on to the bubbling surface of the slag a moulding consisting of 17-72% by wt. of organic material, 20-80% by wt. refractory material and 3-15% by wt. of a binder to dissipate the formed bubbles. The organic material may be wood chips, wood powder rice hulls, sludge, coal, tar or pitch. The refractory material may be siliceous sands, silica, grog, clay, olivine, limestone, dolomite, magnesite, bauxite, alumina or baked products thereof. The binder may be starches, resins, sugars, proteins, water glass, aluminium phosphate or colloidal silica.
